WordPress 4.7 Missing the Underline and Justify Buttons

In WordPress 4.7, the core developer team decided to make various changes in the editor (TinyMce WYSIWYG), including removing the underline and justify buttons and rearranging some of the toolbar buttons. If you don’t want to change the way you edit your content and/or don’t want to confuse your customers with a new contribution interface, there is a simple and lightweight plugin that will set the editor style back to its previous state.

3 options are available for the Editor style:

Default – without underline & justify buttons
Re-add underline & justify buttons
Re-add underline & justify + rearrange

Installation

  1. Upload and activate the plugin (or install it through the WP admin console)
  2. Go to Settings -> Writing and select the option you want under “Editor style”.

  1. Hello there.
Thank you very much for this!
A am administrating a school site and the person who added articles was already worried if she has to “justify” text manually by pressing the hell out of spacebar. That idea sounded like horror to me – thanks to this post here i can sleep in peace.

  3. Thank You Team. It was frustrating without justify button since justify option is making article looks clean and beautiful.

WordPress should have given the button as optional in the version 4.7 instead of removing.

Thank you so much for your plugin 🙂

  5. HI,

the default setting must be “Re-add underline & justify buttons” or “Re-add underline & justify + rearrange”

i manage 200+ sites and why do you think im adding this plugin. Just because i have some extra-space on my hardrive?
